An ambitious Top 40 chartered firm of accountants is currently seeking to add a Client Accountant to their team based in the Oxford area.
The Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing a team of accountants and assisting with a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries and turnovers. Responsibilities include the preparation of accounts, business and personal tax returns, and providing advisory and tax planning services.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a client portfolio and leading a team, with strong advisory skills.
The Accounts Senior position offers a salary of up to £65,000, with hybrid working options, 25 days of holiday plus additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and develop the accounts team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
2. Manage workflow for preparing accounts, ensuring compliance with procedures and quality standards.
3. Coordinate work to meet client deadlines, efficiently utilizing team resources, and proactively addressing workload issues.
4. Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts (including FRS102, FRS102 1A, and FRS105) from various records.
5. Communicate with Partners, addressing queries and highlighting key points or exceptions for clients.
6. Collaborate with senior team members to plan client work and gather necessary documentation.
7. Own assigned account tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
8. Prepare corporation tax computations and returns as required.
9. Mentor junior team members and foster team building.
Additional benefits include a salary of up to circa £60,000 per annum, hybrid working 2-3 days per week, working hours from 10am to 4pm, and options to work from home approximately 60% of the time. The working week is Monday to Friday, with life assurance included.
