We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Resident Services Manager to live on site and oversee the day-to-day running of a 23-room guest house providing emergency accommodation for individuals and families at risk of homelessness. This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in a small, mission-driven organisation making a meaningful and immediate impact in people’s lives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the property, supporting residents, and ensuring a safe, well-run, and responsive environment for those in temporary accommodation. Working closely with the Housing Manager and wider team, the Resident Services Manager will act as the primary on-site lead, balancing operational responsibilities with a strong focus on resident wellbeing and safeguarding. The role involves a high level of independent working and requires someone who is confident taking initiative, managing competing priorities, and maintaining excellent standards. The successful candidate will be highly organised, with strong administrative and record-keeping skills, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. A key aspect of the role is building positive, professional relationships with residents, many of whom may be in vulnerable situations. The Resident Services Manager will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, maintain appropriate boundaries, and respond calmly and effectively to a range of needs and situations. Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families is essential, along with a genuine interest in supporting people to stabilise and move forward. Operational responsibilities include liaising with local authority partners regarding placements, maintaining accurate daily records, supporting invoicing processes, overseeing the condition and presentation of the property, coordinating room readiness, upholding high health and safety standards, and ensuring the overall smooth running of the accommodation. Both written and verbal communication should be to a very high standard. The role also involves practical elements, such as supporting with furniture movement and general upkeep where required. This is a live-in position, and the Resident Services Manager will be provided with their own private room and dedicated office space within the property. All accommodation and utility costs are covered as part of the role. Living on site is a core requirement, enabling the postholder to provide consistent oversight and presence.
