Service Manager (Asylum Services)
Location: Rotherham (with regular travel to Hull, Grimsby, and Derby)
Salary: £33,961 starting salary, rising to £37,595 after 12 months, and £38,752 after 12 years of service
Hours: 39 hours per week, full-time, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of our Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract (AASC), supporting asylum seekers across South Yorkshire, the Humber, Derby, and Nottingham.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage local service teams, ensure safe and compliant housing-related support, and lead performance, staff development, and service improvement across multiple sites. Main Purpose
Lead the delivery of asylum support services under the AASC contract, overseeing frontline teams across multiple sites to ensure safe, compliant, and person-centred support for asylum seekers. Maintain high standards of safeguarding, team performance, and operational efficiency, while contributing to service improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* Service Delivery & Contract Management: Oversee daily operations, meet performance targets, monitor data and incident reports, and ensure safeguarding and risk management policies are followed.
* Team Leadership & Development: Manage team leaders and frontline staff, support recruitment, induction, training, and foster a positive team culture focused on quality and dignity.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance: Conduct audits, prepare reports, manage complaints and incidents, and ensure accurate data recording.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Work with external partners, represent the service in forums, and collaborate to improve services based on insights.
Experience & Skills
* Experience managing frontline teams in housing, asylum, homelessness, or public services.
* Strong leadership and staff development skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
* Experience with contract or commissioning service delivery.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Willingness to travel across service areas.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the AASC contract or similar services.
* Experience managing dispersed teams or multiple sites.
* Understanding trauma-informed support approaches.
