Head of Maths – Salary: £47,103 - £63,060 pa (depending on skills and experience); Contract: Temporary – long term paternity cover; Hours: Full Time; Required from: November 2025.
Opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher to play a pivotal role in the professional leadership and management of the Mathematics Department at Brighton Girls. As Head of Maths, you will ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy. You will lead by example and oversee the strategic direction and development of the department and ensure excellence in teaching and learning. You will also play a key role actively promoting interest in the subject outside the immediate physical and timetabled confines of the department. You will need excellent leadership and decision-making skills, with up-to-date knowledge of professional developments in Maths and the national and examination curricular requirements of the subject. A positive attitude and approach to change and development is equally important.
