Role Overview: Senior Transformation Manager
The Senior Transformation Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations Turnaround Plan. They will be responsible for the successful delivery of Thames Water’s most critical business programmes.
This role involves establishing strategies, solving business problems, and designing and delivering vital initiatives within Asset Operations and Capital Delivery. These initiatives may include cost-efficiency projects, regulatory changes, operating model modifications, or environmental projects affecting key performance indicators such as pollution levels. As part of the Strategic Operations and Transformation Team, you will join a high-performing group of professionals tasked with delivering essential changes over the coming years to significantly enhance operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a key team driving impactful change.
The role requires operating in various environments: sometimes leading matrix teams, sometimes supporting them, and at other times working independently to deliver specific projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the successful delivery of critical business programmes.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for programme delivery updates.
3. Build and guide programme and project teams.
4. Keep stakeholders, including the programme sponsor, fully informed and engaged.
5. Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
6. Coordinate dependencies across multiple programmes within Thames Water’s operational portfolio.
7. Promote a professional services culture within the organization.
8. Influence strategic decisions and foster innovative thinking based on industry insights.
9. Collaborate with various teams to ensure requirements are met in line with customer and operational expectations.
10. Recognize high performance, address underperformance, and support talent development, while effectively communicating the benefits of change to stakeholders at all levels.
Location & Working Pattern: Hybrid working at Clearwater Court in Reading or offices in Slough. 36 hours per week, with travel as required for projects.
Candidate Profile
We seek a self-motivated, pragmatic Senior Transformation Manager with experience in complex operational turnaround programmes (preferably in utilities) and large-scale efficiency initiatives. You should possess the gravitas to work effectively with senior stakeholders, ensuring programmes are well-defined, justified, and successfully executed to realize business benefits.
* Ability to manage matrix and virtual teams, as well as deliver independently.
* Experience managing change in multi-million-pound operational areas.
* Proven ability to direct transformation programmes and initiatives.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels, including directors.
* Consulting experience is desirable.
* Commitment to industry best practices and methodologies.
