Pay: £23.60 - £32.06 dependent on experience

Base: Community clinics at sites across Blackpool, West Lancashire, Bolton & Leicester

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* The post-holder will work in the Community setting supporting the team with carrying out agreed tasks.
* To perform and have expertise in a range of highly specialised Non-Obstetric Ultrasound procedures/techniques in line with BMUS guidelines.
* To perform scans, provide accurate, reproducible reports. The reports must be completed within the timescales agreed by the Commissioners & Head of Diagnostics.
* To recognise the significance of investigation findings/diagnoses and act on these accordingly.
* To liaise closely with the Lead Sonographer & Consultant Radiologist and seek guidance/advice when required.
* Keep up to date with all relevant policies and guidance e.g. NICE.
* To contribute accordingly to the maintenance of standards and quality in service development of the Non-Obstetric Ultrasound service provided, including active involvement in the training of related staff, whilst also maintaining and further developing one’s own professionalism and expert skills and knowledge.
* Participate in the implementation and on-going delivery of the relevant service.
* Adhere to policies and procedures of the company and keep up to date with procedures and changes within the role.
* To build and maintain professional relationships with host practices and secondary care clinicians.
Maintaining professional standards/ training
* To be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and to partake in providing Basic Life Support (BLS) cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as and when necessary.
* To help ensure that all equipment in use within the service is in safe working order and fully functional.
* To be self-motivated and resourceful, developing one’s own personal knowledge, skills, professionalism and expertise in the speciality, so showing evidence of continuous growth and personal, as well as professional development.
* To hold HCPC registration or equivalent, and maintain this by Continuing Professional Development.
* To complete the company Mandatory training programme as required.
Administrative Duties
* This includes general administrative duties which will comprise of accessing clinical systems to view patient records.
* General communication to the administrative team via email and verbally.
* Maintaining consumable stock levels at clinic and requesting stock.

Health and Safety/Security
Staff must adhere to Health and Safety at Work Act, attend a fire lecture annually, and work to minimise risk. Refer concerns through your manager.

Qualifications
* Essential: PGDip or DMU (CASE accredited)
* Essential: HCPC or RCT registration
* Essential: Commitment to ongoing personal development
Desirable
* Evidence of postgraduate development – education, training, CPD or equivalent
Experience
* Essential: Experience in General abdominal, Gynae ultrasound
* Desirable: Experience in MSK ultrasound
* Desirable: Experience working single-handed in the community
* Desirable: Experience of managing projects and within a complex environment
* Desirable: IT experience in US technology (e.g., PACS, RIS)
Skills
* Essential: Excellent oral and written communication, including with people from all walks of life; excellent telephone manner
* Essential: Ability to remain calm under pressure; excellent interpersonal and team-working skills
* Essential: Good organisational abilities, prioritising workload; IT literacy in Microsoft applications
* Essential: Ability to analyse problems and develop practical solutions
