We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Blaenau Gwent to assist with the appointment of a Street Lighting Electrician, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.68 - £21.84 per hour
Summary:
An opportunity for an experienced Electrician to carry out the installation and maintenance of street lighting, illuminated traffic signs, and associated electrical systems. The role involves ensuring public lighting equipment is safe, efficient, and fully operational while working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
* Install and maintain street lighting and illuminated signage
* Identify faults and carry out repairs on electrical systems and cable networks
* Conduct inspections, testing, and complete certification
* Operate tools, machinery, and equipment including MEWPs
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with regulations
Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications under Highway Electrical Training & Competency Scheme
Essential Requirements:
* Ability to fault-find, test, and repair electrical systems
* Willingness to obtain certifications (Chapter 8, IPAF, G39, GS38)
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
* Experience in installation and maintenance of street lighting
