Director of Faculty – Science & Maths

We are delighted to be working with an Ofsted rated “Outstanding” school based in West London who are seeking to appoint a Director of Faculty, leading Science & Maths across the school. This role involves strategic leadership for a the departments, encompassing curriculum development, staff management, and operational oversight. Key responsibilities include setting strategic vision, leading staff, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring high-quality teaching and student outcomes. The specific duties vary between academic and administrative roles, but all require leadership in implementing institutional goals and policies.
Key responsibilities
* Strategic leadership:
* Develop and implement the faculty's strategic vision and objectives.
* Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and strategic plans.
* Staff management:
* Lead, develop, and support faculty staff.
* Play an important part in staff recruitment, induction, and performance management.
* Determine roles and responsibilities within the faculty.
* Curriculum and quality assurance:
* Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement within the faculty.
* Lead the development of curriculum and teaching strategies.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of the faculty.
* Operational and financial management:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations and resources of the faculty.
* Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure value for money.
* Compliance and safety:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Manage health and safety responsibilities, including risk assessments.
* Collaboration and communication:
* Build internal and external networks to support the faculty and the institution.
* Promote effective communication both within the faculty and with other departments.
* Work with other leaders on school-wide initiatives and projects.
