Senior Consultant, Supply Chain and Operations, UK

Be it in the public sector as governments build new supply chains to respond to the changing needs of citizens, or in the private sector as national and international markets face disruption.

Build out your technical and sector knowledge by working alongside our clients in project teams. Work with cutting-edge technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Internet Of Things (IOT) and Blockchain; as well as leading procurement (Source to Pay) technology. As a Senior Consultant, you’ll balance internal and external responsibilities, comprising client, business development support, operational and personal development.
Focus on our clients
* Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and be a trusted advisor in at least one form of supply chain (e.g., operations, planning, procurement, manufacturing).
* Contribute or lead a workstream within a project and manage activity to complete deliverables within your remit.
* Contribute as an active member of a core project team, often working with others from different parts of EY’s network.
Support our business
* Contribute to the development of proposals to showcase leading practices.
* Engage the market with thought leadership and public profile, and contribute to enhancing our methodologies.
* Work across internal sector and account teams to develop your network and bring commercial and procurement expertise to bear.
Support operational excellence
* Support successful delivery of projects by managing your work products and contributions within time and budget.
* Help ensure the quality of our delivery exceeds client expectations by effectively managing activities within your remit.
Personal and people development
* Maintain a personal development program to continually enhance technical and consulting skills.
* Grow your people leadership experience through leading as part of client and internal teams.
Your experience
Typically, Senior Consultants bring practical experience from either a professional services or industry background where you have developed your commercial and procurement experience. Your Commercial and Procurement experience will be valued across several sectors, with a focus on Consumer Products & Retail, Energy & Resources, Government & Infrastructure, Health & Life Sciences, Private & National and Telecommunication, Media & Entertainment.
Senior Consultants are expected to possess experience in at least one of the following technical skills, with exposure to others:
* Supply Chain Strategy: Operating Model design, segmentation strategy and inventory optimisation; end-to-end supply chain issues and potential solutions.
* Supply Chain Transformation: Participation in significant transformation projects; design, setup and delivery including people, process and technological change.
* Digital Supply Chain: Next-generation technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, cognitive automation and AI, IoT, Blockchain and Big Data analytics.
* Supply Chain Analytics: Developing detailed analytics for end-to-end visibility.
* Supply Chain Planning Functional: Demand and supply planning, S&OP, segmentation, inventory optimisation and/or production scheduling.
* Supply Chain Planning with Technology: Knowledge of OMP, Kinaxis, o9, Aera, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, SAP S/4 HANA.
* Logistics: Network design, customs and trade, warehouse design and optimisation, 3PL/4PL or Control Tower management.
* Manufacturing: Plant-level and network optimisation.
* Procurement: Strategic, operational or transactional procurement across the lifecycle; experience with SAP Ariba is sought.
* Service and Asset Management Transformation: End-to-end asset management lifecycle and related processes.
Qualifications
Our Senior Consultants have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can engage effectively with peers and senior stakeholders. They are proactive and energetic, self-starters, with innovative qualities that enable high-quality work in short timeframes. Some may hold professional body memberships or qualifications (e.g., CIPS, IACCM) or equivalent. If you have skills additive to the team, please apply.
