Role
The Department of Health Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced research Secretary/Administrator to work with two teams in the Public Health and Society Research Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and highly efficient individual to provide professional secretarial and administrative support to the Family Wellbeing Team, the Healthy Livelihoods Team and associated research projects.
The role will involve a diverse workload and extensive communication with a wide range of people both internal and external to the University. A friendly and helpful manner is essential, combined with the ability to use initiative and judgement. The workload will fluctuate according to demands, so flexibility is essential. The role involves providing administrative and secretarial support to multidisciplinary research projects. The ideal candidate will be energetic, professional, thorough, and possess excellent IT skills, strong interpersonal skills, and enjoy teamwork. Enthusiasm, a willingness to learn new skills, and a flexible approach are important. The candidate must be able to prioritise, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
The role is to start ASAP until 31 March 2026. Part-time work (minimum 0.8 FTE) will be considered.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed
* Level 2 qualification including Maths and English (e.g., five GCSEs at grade A*-C/grade 4-9). Equivalent professional experience is also welcomed.
* Experience in varied administrative roles, effectively balancing priorities, with thorough knowledge of administrative procedures in a busy, complex organisation.
* Proficiency with digital technologies including Google applications, Microsoft Office, and experience managing digital communication channels, websites, and social media platforms.
* Ability to act as a point of contact, organise meetings, and arrange travel and accommodation.
* Competence in diary management.
* Professional and confident in dealing with diverse people and situations.
