About the Role
Avantor is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the UK Service team, covering a key territory in and around London.
This is a field-based role focused on providing technical support across laboratory equipment, ensuring installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities are delivered to a high standard while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, service, and repair laboratory equipment across client sites
* Perform calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance
* Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues independently
* Deliver a high-quality customer experience on-site
* Provide technical guidance and support to customers
* Plan and manage service visits efficiently within the assigned territory
* Identify opportunities to support service and product offerings
Candidate Profile
* Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum 3+ years’ experience in field service or technical support
* Strong electronic and electrical troubleshooting skills
* Experience working across multiple types of equipment or products
* Ability to work independently in a field-based role
* Strong customer-facing and communication skills
* Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn new technologies
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Willingness to travel across the assigned territory
Location Requirement
Candidates should ideally be based in or near the following areas:
* Surrey
* Buckinghamshire
* Hertfordshire
* Greater London
Additional Information
* Travel required across the South UK / London area
* Ongoing technical training, including quarterly sessions
