About the Opportunity
Ready to bring your Planning skills to a market leading organisation? We are on the lookout for a Raw Material Planner/Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing team to look after the strategic planning, purchasing, and management of raw materials for multiple warehouses that supply our production plants. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials to meet production demands while optimising costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships. It is a fixed term maternity cover role for 12 months.
The key to your success in this role will be your ability to plan and, working with a portfolio of suppliers, place purchase orders for raw materials in a timely manner, minimising stockouts of raw materials and coordinating the transfer of raw materials between warehouses as needed, to maximise service to our production plants.
What does a day in the life of the role look like?
1. Create purchasing plans to meet production schedules.
2. Managing relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, optimal pricing, and quality standards.
3. Monitor inventory levels across all warehouses and adjust plans as needed to prevent shortages and excesses.
4. Analyse data to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions on material purchasing.
5. Collaborate with production, procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations
What will you bring?
6. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
7. 5+ years of experience in purchasing, material planning, or supply chain management.
8. CPIM certification from NZPICS will be preferred
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems.
11. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
