Job Summary:

We are seeking a technically proficient and creatively driven designer to join our product development team (furniture) in Bedford. This is a hybrid role, offering a mix of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in furniture design, with advanced skills in SolidWorks and KeyShot, and a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and technical detailing. You’ll be instrumental in designing and developing high-quality furniture from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design original furniture pieces from initial sketches through to detailed 3D models and production-ready technical drawings.
* Create high-quality, photorealistic renders using KeyShot for presentations and internal reviews.
* Produce accurate CAD models and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks, including BOMs and assembly details.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure designs meet aesthetic, functional, and manufacturing standards.
* Research and apply suitable materials, finishes, and processes to support innovative and durable design solutions.
* Refine and adapt existing designs in response to feedback and technical requirements.
* Maintain version control and clear documentation of all design files and iterations.

Requirements:

* Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a professional furniture or product design role.
* Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and KeyShot.
* Strong understanding of joinery, construction techniques, materials (wood, metal, upholstery), and furniture manufacturing processes.
* Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce precise technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working with manufacturers and fabricators.
* Familiarity with CNC processes and sustainable design practices.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
* Passion for high-quality, custom, or bespoke furniture.

What We Offer:

* Competitive salary based on experience.
* Hybrid working setup (Bedford office with remote flexibility).
* Private health insurance (available after 1 year of employment).
* Yearly company trips to celebrate milestones and team success.
* Long-term employment incentives, including:
* +1 additional day of annual leave for each completed year (up to a max of 30 days).
