We encourage fresh ideas, invest in development and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone feels like they belong.Role: As a Desk-Based Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of builders’ merchant customers through a structured call plan.You will play a critical role in supporting business growth initiatives, executing promotional activity, and building long-term customer relationships. Working collaboratively with field sales, marketing, and internal stakeholders, you will drive sales performance and ensure customers receive outstanding service and commercial support.Head office is in Doncaster, and the Desk Based Account Manager role is situated at our Neale Road site in Doncaster.Key Responsibilities:Customer & Sales GrowthManage a structured call plan to proactively engage with a defined set of builders’ merchant accountsDrive sales and support revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new product rangesWork towards monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets aligned to the overall commercial strategyIdentify growth opportunities within the account base and take actions to unlock potentialCustomer Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key contacts across your customer portfolioServe as the primary point of contact for day-to-day queries, ensuring timely and effective resolutionAct as a brand ambassador, promoting value-added services and reinforcing customer loyaltyPromotional & Marketing SupportPromote and co-ordinate marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives with your customer baseMonitor the uptake and success of promotions, providing feedback to marketing and commercial teamsTailor promotional messaging based on customer needs, seasonality, and market trendsReporting & InsightsMaintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and opportunities in our CRM systemReport on account performance, promotional results, and customer feedback to internal stakeholdersProvide insights into customer behaviour, competitor activity, and market dynamicsCollaboration & SupportWork closely with field-based account managers, sales leaders, and support teams to ensure cohesive customer coverageAssist in onboarding new customers and supporting administrative follow-up as neededContribute to continuous improvement of internal processes to enhance customer experienceSkills & Experience:Ability to analyse dataExcellent listening, negotiation, motivation, and presentation skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsProven experience in a sales or account management role, ideally within construction, building supplies, or a related B2B environmentStrong communication and relationship-building skills via phone, email, and virtual platformsCommercial acumen and ability to identify sales opportunitiesComfortable working to targets and KPIs in a fast-paced environmentProficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook), and sales reportingWorking Hours & Benefits:Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm25 days holiday entitlementContributory pension scheme - matched up to 8%Life assuranceEnhanced Maternity & Paternity paySave as you earn Sharesave SchemeCycle to work schemeFree flu vouchersVarious health & wellbeing initiatives including complimentary occupational health on-site physiotherapy and counselling servicesStaff discount on all Genuit Group productsFree on-site parkingHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
