We are looking for a skilled engineer to lead protection & settings activities for electrical substations and network automation initiatives. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and validating protection schemes. You will provide technical guidance, support project delivery, and ensure consistent application of protection practices across multiple assignments.
Responsibilities
* Protection Design & Calculations: Develop detailed protection schemes and perform calculations for overcurrent, distance, differential, and earth fault protection, ensuring proper coordination across network components.
* Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including protection settings files, study reports, and configuration records, aligned with project specifications and industry requirements.
* System Analysis: Interpret results from system studies such as fault analysis, load flow, and arc flash assessments to define appropriate protection limits and operational settings.
* Project Coordination & Oversight: Monitor resources, track task progress, and contribute to risk assessments, ensuring protection activities are executed efficiently and on schedule.
* Collaboration & Support: Work alongside design engineers, system analysts, and project managers to deliver accurate protection configurations. Provide technical support and participate in stakeholder discussions as required.
* Standardization & Continuous Improvement: Help establish standard templates, calculation tools, and best practice guidelines to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency across projects.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Solid knowledge of protection principles and relay configuration, with hands-on experience in protection study software.
* Proven ability to design protection schemes and conduct network studies for HV and MV systems.
* Strong skills in technical reporting and documentation, with effective communication abilities for internal and external collaboration.
