This clinical leader role involves coordinating staff and activities on a dynamic and ever-evolving Day Surgery Unit. Day Surgery staff currently work across three units within Westmorland General Hospital. This post is well suited for enthusiastic, motivated nurses wishing to work within a welcoming team.
Day Surgery activities include caring for a range of patients pre- and post-surgery from various specialties: Trauma & Orthopaedics, General, Maxillofacial, Dental, ENT, Gynaecology, Chronic Pain, Urology, & Ophthalmology.
Additional responsibilities include assisting medical staff with clinics for procedures such as prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, nipple tattooing, one-stop clinics, and chronic pain clinics. The role involves acting as an effective role model, managing wards in conjunction with or in the absence of the Ward Manager, assisting with staff recruitment and duty roster management, developing and implementing policies, and seeking service development opportunities.
You will coordinate high-quality patient care, ensure standards of cleanliness and safety, and lead staff professional development and performance management alongside the Ward Manager.
