Part-time Nursery Deputy Manager Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Part-time Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team at [Nursery Name]. The ideal candidate will be a Level 3 practitioner with a strong background in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and previous experience in a nursery management role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management: Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery Take charge of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager Contribute to the development and implementation of nursery policies and procedures Participate in staff recruitment, training, and performance management Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including Ofsted requirements Curriculum Planning and Implementation: Oversee the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and suggest improvements Ensure that all children's individual needs are met through personalized learning plans Promote inclusive practice and support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Child Development and Welfare: Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress Identify and address any developmental concerns or safeguarding issues Ensure that all staff members adhere to child protection policies and procedures Parent and Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers Organize and participate in parent meetings and events Provide regular updates on children's progress and development Collaborate with external agencies and professionals when necessary Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of nursery practices and documentation Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in early years education and childcare Qualifications and Requirements Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a nursery setting Previous experience in a management or leadership role within early years education Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and its practical application Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health and safety regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lead and motivate a team of early years practitioners Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping and communication First aid qualification (desirable) IND2
