This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse or Midwife to join the Practice based Learning team within Clinical Learning and Development as Practice Based Learning Lead.
Main duties of the job
The key purpose of the Practice based learning team, is to manage, lead and report on supervision, assessment and placement activity within UHBW and the wider BNSSG ICB to ensure that all learners have a positive experience and high quality learning opportunities.
The practice based learning lead will be pivotal indriving the placement expansion agenda within the UHBW education strategy and the expansion of placement activity and capacity across the wider system to improve recruitment and the retention ofstudents and learners meet the needs of the NHS long term workforce plan. As operational lead for practice based learning you will be working in partnership with higher education institutes and system partners and participating in relevant sub-groups linked to the BNSSG Learning Academy Group to steer the system approaches to clinical placements and practice based learning.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
1. Clinical Professional Registration, registered with a professional body NMC, HCPC
2. Educated to a Masters level in relevant subject or equivalent
3. A teaching/education qualification or willingness to work towards. This could include a Fellow in Higher Education qualification
Desirable
4. Leadership/management qualification or relevant experience
5. Professional Nurse Advocate
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
6. Post-registration experience in healthcare
7. Substantial experience of education and training as part of large, complex health and social o care organisation to masters level equivalent
8. Experience of managing staff and building successful high performing teams
9. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of placement and assessment suited to clinical o practice placement and development
10. Clear understanding of the career pipelines into nursing
11. Clear understanding of clinical apprenticeship standards and varying placement o requirements attached to each standard
12. Good level of understanding of contract and regulatory KPIs and external governance o requirements such as CQC, Ofsted, NMC and NHS England
13. Proven managerial and leadership experience of a team or project
14. Knowledge of different assessment and learning methods
15. Evidence of recent relevant professional development and its application in the workplace

16. Prior experience of managing budgets and resources
17. Experience of working with HEIs to gain accreditation for internal programmes
