About the job

Job Title: Research Analyst

Location: Remote

Type: Full-time

Start Date: Flexible

Compensation: £35k+

About Us

Asymmetrix is a fast-growing, early-stage company focused on becoming the go-to source of truth for the Data & Analytics sector. We have been operating for almost two years and are backed by seed funding. Our mission is to track and make sense of developments in a rapidly expanding and evolving industry, transforming complexity into clear, meaningful insight for investors, strategics, and advisors.

We are a team of curious problem-solvers with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, client-centric products. Our work environment encourages initiative, thoughtful experimentation, and continuous learning. With a remote-first setup and a genuinely meritocratic culture, we enable individuals to deliver excellent work both autonomously and collaboratively.

At Asymmetrix, progression is based on capability, impact, and professional growth, rather than tenure. This enables us to offer early responsibility and meaningful career development opportunities as the business scales.

The Role

We are seeking a high-calibre, resourceful Research Analyst to join our team and support the development of our Data and Insights content and infrastructure.

Reporting to the VP of Research, your work will play a key role in establishing a market-leading Research function within the Data & Analytics industry. You will also collaborate closely with Commercial and Product teams to support the ongoing development of the Asymmetrix platform and brand.

What You’ll Do

* Collect, analyse, and synthesise data across the Data & Analytics market, identifying key trends and producing valuable insights
* Produce high-quality written analyses on corporate events, companies, and sub-sectors, ranging from concise, opinion-led commentary to in-depth quarterly reports
* Study, interpret, and model company accounts, corporate transactions, and valuation metrics
* Analyze valuation trends of publicly traded Data & Analytics companies (e.g., S&P Global, MSCI, Moody’s)
* Apply structured and consistent analytical frameworks to financial and operational data, supporting the development of a scientific research approach
* Introduce and refine scalable systems and processes to support the efficient and consistent production of reports and analyses
* Systematically incorporate AI-driven tools to content creation and data collection processes
* Proactively contribute to the evolution of the platform, including how data is structured and delivered to users
* Ensure clarity, consistency, and usability in how data and insights are presented, with a strong focus on client value
* Collaborate across the business to enhance analytical outputs and support broader product development initiatives
* Select, create, and edit content for marketing purposes, both on an ad-hoc and project basis

What We’re Looking For

* 1-3 years’ work experience in Accounting, Finance, Research or Consulting fields.
* Special Consideration will be given to those with Equity Research Analyst experience.
* Minimum 2:1 degree at undergraduate level in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Economics
* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and succinctly
* Experience writing for business audiences to tight deadlines, with the ability to maintain quality output under pressure
* Ability to interpret and distil complex datasets into valuable insights
* Analytical mindset combined with the creativity to interpret and communicate complex ideas effectively
* Demonstrable interest in Data & Analytics and broader technology markets, particularly subscription models, innovation trends, and product development
* A structured, well-organised approach to managing large volumes of information with strong attention to detail
* Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and proactive, with the ability to take ownership and work independently in a remote environment
* Curiosity and a love of learning, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

Why Join Us

* Join at an early stage and play a meaningful role in shaping the company’s direction
* Gain hands-on experience in the heart of the Data & Analytics industry
* Work closely with the Founder on high-impact, strategically important projects
* Gain exposure to start-up operations, research, product development, and client engagement
* Fully remote and flexible work setup

How To Apply

Please send your CV and a brief cover letter to. We are particularly interested in your curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn, so we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every requirement listed above.
