Social Work Assistant – Justice Women’s Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Justice Women’s Service, and we are looking to recruit a full time Social Work Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. The Women’s Justice Service provides tailored, trauma informed supports to women across South Lanarkshire who have found themselves involved with the justice system. The key aim of the service is to support women involved with the Justice System to reduce elements of risk, improve wellbeing and to achieve positive destinations.
The successful candidate will co-facilitate weekly Women’s Hubs in locations across South Lanarkshire and provide one to one support and assessment as required. The successful candidate will also provide input into the ongoing development of the service. Please note the role requires availability on at least three of four days from Tuesday to Friday.
The role requires a strong value base with a non-judgemental approach; excellent relationship building skills; an ability to work with partner agencies; strong verbal and written communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge of trauma informed practice and experience of working with women in vulnerable situations, preferably but not necessarily within the justice system.
The successful candidate should have an HNC or other relevant equivalent qualification in health and social care.
Applicants should be willing to undertake any necessary training required for the role.
