An exciting opportunity to join a local business who are one of the longest established engineeringpanies based in Newry. Thispany has been in business for over 50 years, exporting their products and services to over thirty countries worldwide.
Due to expansion, they are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to manage all aspects of capital/maintenance contracts in the water and wastewater industry.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Director - responsibilities will include:
1. Take ownership of contracts from start topletion to handover to client
2. Purchase equipment and subcontract services at the most advantageous rates
3. Ensure thepletion of individual contracts within budget and within the agreed time frame
4. Liaise and support framework partners on individual projects in NI and ROI
5. Prepare CAD drawings as and when required for contracts
6. Attend site progress meetings with contractors and customers
7. Liaise with and support site engineers on their day-to-day job requirements
8. Liaise and support subcontract personnel on site
9. Ensure work on site is carried out safely and in accordance with current H&S guidelines
10. Actively improve gross profit margins on jobs through efficient contract management
11. Manage risks and opportunities on projects and deliver improvements and client satisfaction
What you'll need to succeed
12. A formal qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline
13. A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in an engineering environment
14. Proven project management experience
15. Experience working on NI Water and/or Irish Water contracts
16. High level of IT skill in use of MS Word, Excel, Teams use etc.
17. Excellent people management skills and problem-solving abilities
18. Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills
19. Experience of reading, interpreting and responding to technical specifications
