Role Overview
As a Practice Supervisor, you will manage, guide and supervise a small team of social workers, providing primary assessment, support and advice for children and young people within Child in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care and Care Proceedings. You will ensure that they are safeguarded at all times and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of social care in a nationally leading local authority.
Responsibilities
* Manage, guide, and supervise a small team of social workers.
* Provide primary assessment, support, and advice to children and young people.
* Ensure safeguarding and support within Child in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care and Care Proceedings.
* Contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of social care.
* Encourage team development through regular supervision, group learning, and team meetings.
* Practice embedding the Signs of Safety model and restorative practice, honouring strengths of families and encouraging child‑centred solutions.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with experience in child protection and related services.
* Experience supervising social work students, apprentices, and qualified social workers.
* Strong knowledge of the Signs of Safety practice model.
* Fluency in spoken English – must be able to converse at ease with customers as per Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty).
