About the role
We have an exciting opportunity at our Waterside Head office for an experienced Head of Finance to join our Group Finance team.
The Head of Finance – SSC is responsible for leading the SSC Finance Team across both Financial Control and Commercial Finance for the shared service centre business costs, covering departments such as Finance, HR, IT, and centralised operations teams across multiple geographies. The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller, help develop a new team, rationalise and standardise processes, prepare monthly management accounts, and business partner with senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance professional with strengths in technical and commercial accounting, strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, and excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information to stakeholders.

This is a permanent office-based position with flexible start times between 8am-10am, Monday to Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and lead the SSC Finance Team, including Management Accounts and Commercial Finance
2. Standardise and document processes to meet financial control requirements
3. Ensure monthly management accounts are prepared using SAP systems, with accurate balance sheet reconciliations and visibility of spend
4. Provide P&L visibility to department budget holders, hold meetings for variance analysis and financial planning
5. Identify cost-saving opportunities and collaborate on modelling and business cases
6. Contribute to group consolidation of actuals, budgets, and forecasts
7. Oversee purchase order processes, including training, policies, and approval matrices
8. Support the Group Financial Controller with ad-hoc duties
9. Develop finance staff continuously
10. Enhance month-end controls and SOX compliance
