Position: Electronic Engineer
Location: Chesterfield
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronic Engineer to join an established and growing business based in Chesterfield. Our client designs, develops, and manufactures a range of electronic devices used across the UK and Europe.
This position is suited to an Electronic Engineer with a relevant degree qualification and demonstrable industry experience in a similar role. You will be involved in the full development of electronic products, working across electronics design including PCB design, mixed-signal circuits, embedded programming in C, and microcontroller-based systems.
You will work as part of a small, offering significant variety in your day-to-day responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with a small design team. This role will suit someone with strong attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, product development environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
Relevant degree in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline
Industry experience within an electronics design environment
Strong understanding of communication protocols, including SPI, UART, and IC
Proficient in PCB layout and schematic design using Altium Designer
Embedded C programming
Hands-on hardware-level experience with STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers
Experience with circuit prototyping, testing, and debugging
Skilled in the use of test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, design for manufacture (DFM), and EMC compliance requirements
Desirable Experience
Mechanical design experience, ideally using SolidWorks
Design experience for injection moulding / vacuum forming
Experience working with Zigbee RF modules
Writing applications for Raspberry Pi using Python
Design experience with high-power LED devices and constant current circuits
