Bookkeeper - Accountancy Practice
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm) – 4 days per week considered
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience. Likely in the region of £30,000-£38,000pa.
Are you an experienced bookkeeper, looking for a friendly, collaborative team where your work really makes a difference? Our client, a well-established accountancy practice, is on the lookout for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join their growing firm.
You’ll be working with a varied portfolio of clients, handling day-to-day bookkeeping duties using Xero (and occasionally Sage Line 50 for a few long-standing clients). The role is mainly office based, but flexible hours can be discussed, and once you’ve settled in, there’s the option for some hybrid working too.
If you enjoy getting stuck into accounts and want to broaden your skills, there’s also the opportunity to take on statutory accounts preparation work – though this is entirely optional.
What you’ll be doing
* Managing bookkeeping for a diverse client base
* Preparing VAT returns and supporting management accounts
* Reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records
* Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support
* Assisting with statutory accounts preparation (if desired)
Requirements
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience within an accountancy practice preferred but not essential if you have experience with Xero
* Confident with Xero (essential) and ideally some exposure to Sage Line 50
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
* A team player with a positive, proactive approach
