The role involves working alongside Consultants, Doctors, and Clinical Nurse Specialists, as well as a wider team, to support patients and staff in a clinical environment. The successful applicant will assist in outpatient clinics, including colposcopy, hysteroscopy, vulval, urodynamic, oncology, and general gynaecological outpatient clinics.
1. Clinical chaperoning and assisting.
2. Patient triage.
3. Development of the service, personal skills, and training.
4. Working with students.
5. Interacting with the wide MDT to ensure safe and well-managed clinic activity. The post holder will liaise appropriately with all key members of the multidisciplinary team and service users related to the specialty.
6. Responsible for all aspects of patient care, including assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of direct patient care under supervision from senior staff.
7. Support the Charge Nurse/Senior Sister in monitoring the safety and quality of patient care.
8. In the absence of the Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, responsible for the day-to-day management of the clinical area.
9. Manage a group of Nursing Assistants, assigning delegated tasks and responsibilities as appropriate.
10. Ensure compliance with mandatory training and appraisal requirements for delegated Nursing Assistants.
11. Maintain a positive, patient-focused service, incorporating patient feedback to improve care.
12. Act as an effective role model, promoting excellence through practice.
13. Respect patient choices and work with a non-judgemental attitude, providing care in various clinical settings, including intimate examinations and termination of pregnancy services.
