University Hospitals Dorset is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Cardiac Physiologist to lead our dedicated cardiac physiology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and shape a large, multi-site cardiac physiology service in East Dorset. The Principal Cardiac Physiologist will be a clinical expert, providing leadership, overseeing high-quality care, and supporting strategic objectives while managing operational challenges.
The role involves cross-site working and includes responsibilities such as:
1. Accountability for service delivery and the 5-10 year workforce plan.
2. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and national targets.
3. Delivering Trust objectives and collaborating on ICB joint plans.
4. Supporting cardiac physiology personnel through training and experience, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
5. Assessing service performance via metrics, appraisals, and training needs.
6. Managing contracted cardiac diagnostic services, community support, and industry engagements.
7. Ensuring health and safety for staff, patients, and visitors.
8. Capacity planning and liaising with multidisciplinary teams and external providers.
9. Implementing innovations and physiology-led services.
10. Maintaining sustainable on-call services.
11. Creating service plans and forecasts.
12. Achieving BSE and IQUIPs accreditation.
