We are looking for an amazing and inspirational person to come and help lead the Jack In The Box Nursery & Forest School community and train in our unique pedagogy. We are an award-winning education setting, who have been recognised for their unique environment and focus on staff well‐being.

We offer a specialised training programme and our chosen candidate would be funded by the company to complete their Level 3 Forest School qualification following their probation.
Purpose of Role
To support the Nursery Manager in the day‑to‑day management, staffing, organisation, and smooth running of the nominated site. This includes leading the setting in the Manager’s absence and deputising for other senior leaders where required.
To support the Manager in providing strong leadership across all areas of the curriculum, modelling outstanding practice and ensuring high‑quality provision is consistently delivered in line with the Jack In The Box ethos and values. The Deputy Manager is accountable for ensuring that children whose parents have opted into the enhanced curriculum (Forest School sessions) receive this provision daily.
To support the setting’s key people in delivering high‑quality learning and to be accountable for the overall progress of children within the nursery. This is to be undertaken in conjunction with the Nursery SENCo, ensuring teaching and learning is adapted appropriately to meet individual needs and promote inclusion.
To provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for all children, maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, and to act as the nominated Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the setting.
To support the Manager in leading and managing staff to ensure that all statutory welfare requirements, legal obligations, and organisational policies are met. This includes supporting the implementation of the Nursery Action Plan and working collaboratively with the setting team to deliver identified actions and drive continuous improvement.
To actively promote the corporate identity of Jack In The Box to all stakeholders, providing exceptional levels of customer service and communication at all times.
To take a lead role in corporate events hosted throughout the academic year, working alongside the Nursery Manager to plan, organise, and deliver high‑quality experiences for children, families, and the wider community.
Requirements
* Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting for at least three years.
* Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively.
* Experience in leading a Nursery team as a Room Leader or previous experience as a Deputy Manager.
* Childcare qualifications, degree graduate/Early Years Teacher preferred.
