Here at Heathrow, we have a team of around 400 colleagues. We produce gluten free sandwiches and ready to eat or reheat sandwiches, wraps and other bread-based products, salads and ready meals for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Asda, Aldi, Co-op, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
What you'll be doing
As a Prep Operator
* You will be an essential part of production, working in the busy preparation area ensuring the ingredients are prepared to the highest quality and standards
* Working as part of the high-risk team preparing raw materials and ingredients to be used to make the products
* This is a physical role that requires some heavy lifting
* Effectively contribute to improved line performance and efficiencies
* Maintain excellent Housekeeping, Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards
* Resolve running problems/issues
* Handling food ingredients
* Communicate effectively with your area leaders
What we're looking for
Full training will be provided if successful in this role but are looking for the following knowledge and experience:
* Ideally experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar environment
* Good Literacy and Numeracy skills
* Ability to work in a fast past, chilled environment
* Has a keen eye for detail and can demonstrate working in a safe manner and to good H&S practices
* Able to manage the team and follow management instructions and procedures
* Able to liaise and communicate with other departments
* Basic Awareness of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
