Overview
Highways Design Engineer – Gateshead. Location: Gateshead. Salary: £35,000 - £46,000 (DOE) + Benefits. Type: Full-Time | Permanent. This role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle within a transport & infrastructure consultancy.
Responsibilities
* Designing roads, junctions, roundabouts and pavements
* Supporting the delivery of highway schemes from concept through to detailed design
* Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D
* Working closely with transport planners, drainage engineers and other disciplines
* Supporting project delivery across multiple schemes
* Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders where required
What we're looking for
* Experience in highways design, particularly:
o Roads
o Roundabouts
o Pavement design
* Experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D beneficial)
* Experience working within a consultancy environment
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
