Consultant Psychiatrist, General Adult – Darwen CMHT

This full‑time (10 PA) posting is part of a group of six Consultant Psychiatrist posts within the Pennine Lancs locality. The role is based at Daisyfield Mill in Blackburn and will not include inpatient responsibilities.
Main Duties
* Provide medical leadership to the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) multidisciplinary team.
* Work collaboratively with Mental Health Nursing, Pharmacists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers.
* Participate in the Consultant On‑Call rota, with additional remuneration.
* Offer teaching and supervision to resident doctors, medical students, and other professionals.

* Mature and specialist GP, Clinical, and Educational Supervision support available.
* Opportunity for clinical supervision and study leave funding (£3,000–£5,000 over 3 years).

Essential Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration, Licence to Practice.
* On GMC Specialist Register or eligible to gain registration within 6 months of interview.
* Section 12 approved at commencement of employment.
* Approved Clinician (AC) status or eligibility within 6 months of interview.
Essential Experience
Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to adult community psychiatry and CMHT delivery.
