 
        
        Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Electrical Engineering
Join the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as an Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role.
In this role you will develop your own research in Electrical Engineering while teaching undergraduate/postgraduate classes in energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications. You will design learning activities and publish high‑quality research as part of a team or independently.
Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
Term: Fixed‑term 2 years, Full time.
Salary:
 * Associate Lecturer (Level A) – AUD $113,911 to $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
 * Lecturer (Level B) – AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills And Experience
Associate Lecturer (Level A)
 * PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and relevant work experience.
 * Evidence of commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
 * Demonstrated teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in Electrical Engineering, including energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, microelectronics, signal processing and telecommunications.
 * Knowledge of educational technologies and online delivery methods.
 * Experience engaging students and fostering independent learning through meaningful assessment and helpful feedback.
 * Evidence of professional development of teaching practice.
 * Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
 * Demonstrated high‑quality academic research and capacity to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
 * Track record of publications and conference presentations appropriate to the role.
 * Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build relationships.
 * Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
 * Commitment to UNSW’s values and relevant policies.
 * Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to training.
Lecturer (Level B)
 * PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and relevant work experience.
 * Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
 * Proven ability to mentor and guide students, nurturing their personal and academic growth.
 * Knowledge of industry or experience of work‑integrated learning (desirable).
 * Evidence of knowledge of student well‑being and pastoral care, with the ability to apply this knowledge.
 * Demonstrated ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
 * High‑impact research output with a clear record of excellence and potential for leadership.
 * Track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
 * Excellent communication and networking skills.
 * Strong team collaboration and relationship‑building capabilities.
 * Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
