Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated individual to join the GMMH Corporate Safeguarding Team as a Workforce Development Safeguarding Trainer.
The postholder will develop and deliver safeguarding training packages across the Trust footprint which includes classroom-based sessions and remote learning
The post holder must be a registered professional and have extensive experience of working within mental health services and safeguarding teaching experience.
Main duties of the job
To work with the Corporate Safeguarding Team and the Learning and Development Team to deliver safeguarding training across Greater Manchester NHS Foundation Trust footprint to support the Trust to meet it's mandatory and essential training requirements.
To promote effective practice, through training, that enables staff to identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
To undertake safeguarding training audits.
To provide support to the Corporate Safeguarding Team and the Safeguarding Leads, to ensure the Trust carries out its duties with respect to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of both children and adults who may be at risk of abuse and neglect.

Job responsibilities
Essential requirements for the post include: Registered practitioner RMN, RGN, Social Work, significant experience of a leadership role in child safeguarding, highly specialist knowledge and understanding of working with complex family situations, mental health and substance misuse in relation to safeguarding children, legal literacy in relation to child safeguarding and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to recognise and support the needs of others in a sensitive and effective manner.
