SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time Location: Fulwood, Preston Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (initially until December 2026, with potential extension) Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:30pm The Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Fulwood, Preston. This is a full-time position supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working on a 1:1 basis with multiple pupils who have varying levels of Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives and has experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN needs across KS1 and KS2 Support learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing in and out of the classroom Assist with differentiation and implementation of tailored learning strategies Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and school staff to support pupil progress Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment Ideal Candidate Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred) Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs Relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential What’s on Offer Competitive hourly rate of £14.25 Consistent full-time hours during term time Opportunity to work in a supportive school environment Potential for the role to be extended beyond December 2026 All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
