The Opportunity:
Join a dedicated and nurturing all-through special needs school in the Derbyshire (DE55) area, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with a range of complex needs including autism, communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and behavioural needs.
This is a long-term, full/part-time role beginning in September 2025, perfect for experienced SEN practitioners looking to make a meaningful and lasting difference in a specialist setting.
Collaborate with experienced SENCOs, class teachers, and therapists to provide highly personalised support.

Full-time, Monday to Friday during term time only. Part time is flexible working hours.
Paid up to £105 per day with free on-site parking and immediate trial days available.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across Primary and Secondary phases, adapting to individual learning styles and communication needs.
Support pupils with autism, SEMH, and other complex additional needs in developing independence, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Contribute to creating a structured, predictable, and safe learning environment through consistent routines and positive behaviour strategies.
Work under the guidance of the SENCo to implement tailored education plans (EHCPs) and learning interventions.
Support personal care and life-skills development where required (training provided if necessary).
Build trusting relationships with pupils and families to support holistic development.
Work closely with therapists, teachers, and pastoral staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Who We're Looking For:
A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in education, childcare or health and social care is essential.
Experience in a special school, SEN unit, or working with pupils with SEND in any phase (Primary through to Post-16) is highly desirable.
Confident supporting children with autism, SEMH, communication challenges, or sensory needs.
Calm, consistent, and empathetic, able to support pupils through both their academic and emotional challenges.
Someone who is proactive, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
