Job Title: School Caretaker
Pay: £15.86–£17.30 per hour

Shift Pattern: Morning or Afternoon (to be negotiated once started)
Morning: 6:30am – 2:30pm
Afternoon: 10:30am – 6:30pm
Our client, a busy school in Handsworth, is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to oversee all aspects of site management, ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment for staff and pupils. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering the opportunity to secure a permanent role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Building & Grounds Maintenance: Undertake proactive and reactive maintenance, minor repairs, and general groundskeeping.
Low Maintenance Jobs: Assist with day-to-day, smaller maintenance tasks.
Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.
Security: Open and lock the premises, manage alarms, and respond to emergency call-outs.
Contractor Liaison: Supervise and coordinate on-site contractors.
Stock & Supplies: Monitor and order essential site supplies.
Event Support: Assist with logistics for school events and activities.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as a school caretaker is essential.
A calm, patient attitude when working around children.
Strong organisational and practical maintenance skills.
A reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
