Overview
We are a fast-growing scale-up AI company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Linux Support Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will act as a 2nd line support engineer, diagnosing, investigating, and resolving escalated tickets to ensure consistent, high-quality service for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in technical support who is eager to deepen their expertise in Linux, virtualization, and container technologies while contributing to the success of an innovative AI-driven business.
Responsibilities
* Provide remote hardware and software support for our global locations, troubleshoot issues using established guidance and documentation, and manage tickets throughout their lifecycle while escalating where appropriate.
* Work closely with senior engineers to gain insight into more complex issues, while also documenting solutions for use by operations engineers and 1st line support.
* Use our ticketing system to communicate updates, track progress, and ensure work items are completed effectively.
Qualifications
* At least three years of experience on a support desk; this is not an entry-level position.
* Strong knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems, with hands-on experience in virtualization technologies such as Proxmox or VMware.
* Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
* Solid understanding of IP networking, routing, switching, and VPNs, with experience using networking solutions from vendors such as Ubiquiti UniFi, Meraki, Peplink, Tailscale, or Teltonika.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
