Requirement for an experienced Subcontract Package Manager working on a major project within the defence sector. The Manager will be responsible for the procurement of subcontract goods and services for the project to meet the programme and commercial requirements of the project.
Responsible for cradle to grave contract and subcontract/supplier administration of procurement actions; review requisitions, prepare RFPs, conduct bid abstracts, conduct negotiations, prepare purchase orders and subcontracts, award and administer contracts/subcontracts, ensure compliance with contract requirements and subcontractor/supplier requirements.
Manage subcontractor/supplier performance through contract compliance, conducting schedule assessments and progress
This is a national role in which the candidate can work remotely/ flexibly.
Knowledge and Responsibilities:
1. Manage and report on all subcontract/supplier activities in support of projects throughout the lifecycle and manage the work packages/ systems and support the Management Team.
2. Co-ordinate the delivery of multi-discipline work packages through all phases of the project.
3. Ensure all changes are identified and managed, and configuration control is maintained.
4. Build & develop relationships and manage eco-systems of suppliers and act as key contact for and manage interfaces with external suppliers
5. Delivery of improvement in overall value (quality, cost, delivery, performance) from supplier base.
6. Identification, assessment and management of subcontracted risk in support of associated bids/projects.
7. Undertake vendor assessment and identify opportunities to develop supply base and assist in review and development of business processes as required.
8. Maintain effective communications and develop appropriate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Here's What You'll Need:
Essential experience & qualifications:
9. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
10. APM PMQ or equivalent and proficient in the use of project management tools.
11. Experience in Supply Chain, Subcontract Management, Procurement, Commodity and/or related field.
12. Able to lead effectively in a multi-functional team.
13. Experience of developing and managing Subcontractor Relationship Management and collaborative working.
14. Experience of working with complex international suppliers/programmes.
15. High level of negotiation skills.
16. Detailed practical knowledge of contract tendering, contract structures and preparation.
17. Practical experience of the NEC forms of contract.
18. Experience in Change Management programmes.
