We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Income Reconciliation Assistant to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in managing and reconciling income for the authority, ensuring payments are processed accurately, discrepancies resolved, and compliance maintained with financial policies and legislation. Reconcile income from multiple sources, including Direct Debits, standing orders, and bank transfers. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and customer queries. Process refunds, returned payments, and allocate suspense items. Prepare reports and support year-end financial reconciliation. Work closely with colleagues across the Council to ensure accurate and timely income management. What We’re Looking For Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Experience or ability to learn financial reconciliation and income processing Good IT skills and ability to use financial systems. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, especially during year-end. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Why Join Us?
