A specialist school in Newbury is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring psychologists, counsellors, therapists, or individuals with experience supporting vulnerable young people.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may experience SEMH needs, anxiety, depression, trauma, ASD, ADHD, and other barriers to learning. You will provide both emotional and practical support, helping students feel safe, understood, and engaged within the school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support as a Mental Health Assistant
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and wellbeing
Helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships
Assisting with behaviour support and intervention strategies
