About the Role
Location: Leeds. Hybrid. Permanent.
We are looking for an experienced Paralegal/Litigation Executive to join our Casualty team, supporting senior lawyers with both pre‑ and post‑litigation work across employer & public liability, product liability and motor‑crime defence cases.
Main Responsibilities
* Review accident reports and related documentation to assess liability.
* Manage a pre‑litigation and litigated caseload.
* Obtain and draft witness statements.
* Review third‑party evidence.
* Instruct counsel and manage client expectations.
* Resolve liability and quantum disputes.
* Ensure adherence to court directions and deadlines.
* Take initiative to suggest improvement ideas and understand different working approaches.
* Set priorities, create clear plans and manage all work to meet client needs.
* Assist senior lawyers and partners with HSE/EHO accident investigations, statement taking, and preparation for client conferences and court hearings.
* Support motor‑crime investigations, taking statements and preparing cases for police interviews and court hearings.
* Assist with preparation for inquest hearings in fatal accident cases.
* Participate in internal and external training on an ongoing basis.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience within a similar role handling a case load – Desirable.
* Knowledge or experience of EL/PL liability – Desirable.
* Previous experience working within the insurance sector – Desirable.
* Experience working in a fast‑paced environment – Desirable.
* Ability to interpret and input data accurately and efficiently – Essential.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative – Essential.
* Professional and confident telephone manner – Essential.

Our full‑time hours are 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7 hours per day with flexible hours between 7am to 6pm.
