* Location: Edinburgh-based, with a hybrid working style. Expect focused outreach and occasional in-person engagement for events.
* Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 base salary plus commission and bonus – aligned with experience in financial services and tech sales.

Your Mission:
We are seeking a Business Development Executive to proactively identify, qualify, and engage key prospects within the financial services sector. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial, you will be instrumental in expanding our footprint by building relationships, generating high-quality leads, and ultimately driving new business opportunities for our bespoke software solutions. You'll be the expert in opening doors and warming up accounts, setting the stage for our sales team.
Your Day-to-Day:
* Targeted Account Research & Identification: Conduct in-depth research to identify and qualify financial services companies that align with ClearSky Logic's ideal client profile and growth potential.
* Strategic Outreach & Engagement: Develop and execute multi-channel account-based outreach strategies, primarily leveraging LinkedIn, personalised video messages, and other innovative approaches to initiate conversations with key decision-makers.
* Network Building: Proactively build and nurture a strong professional network within the financial services industry, positioning ClearSky Logic as a thought leader and trusted partner.
* Lead Nurturing & Qualification: Engage prospects through compelling communication, understand their challenges, and effectively qualify their needs against ClearSky Logic's capabilities, ensuring leads are warmed up and ready for the sales team.
* Event Pipeline Contribution: Actively work to drive attendance of qualified leads to ClearSky Logic's exclusive events (e.g., round table dinners), leveraging these as key touchpoints in the sales funnel.
* CRM Management: Track and manage all lead generation activities and interactions within HubSpot (or similar CRM), ensuring a robust pipeline and accurate reporting.
* Collaboration with Commercial Team: Work in lockstep with the Head of Commercial and wider sales team to transition qualified opportunities seamlessly into the discovery, delivery, and support product sales process.
* Market Insight: Stay abreast of trends, challenges, and opportunities within the financial services sector to refine targeting and messaging.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience in lead generation, business development, or sales development is essential; experience within the technology or software sector is a strong advantage but not a requirement.
* Financial Services Acumen: A strong understanding of the financial services industry, its operations, challenges, and key players.
* Strategic Mindset: Ability to conduct in-depth market research and apply an account-based sales approach to identify high-potential targets.
* Exceptional Communicator: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a particular flair for crafting personalised, engaging outreach messages, including the ability to create compelling video content.
* Networking Pro: A natural ability to build and nurture professional relationships and expand your network.
* Results-Oriented: A track record of achieving and exceeding lead generation targets and contributing to pipeline growth.
* Tech Savvy: Proficient with CRM systems (ideally HubSpot) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Experience with sales engagement tools is a plus.
* Proactive & Self-Driven: Highly motivated, with the initiative to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
