The role
SEN Teacher – Secondary Phase (Primary Curriculum) Location: DY5, Dudley Pay Rate: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) Start Date: ASAP Duration: Long-term, Full Academic Year Hours: Full-Time Connex Education is working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive specialist setting in the Dudley area to recruit an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher for a full-time, long-term position. This rewarding role involves teaching secondary-aged pupils who are working significantly below age-related expectations and are accessing a primary-style curriculum. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and committed to helping them achieve both academically and personally within a nurturing learning environment. The Role Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to the primary curriculum for secondary-aged pupils. Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of complex learning needs. Support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and moderate learning difficulties. Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and independence. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO, therapists, and other professionals. Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting provision where required. Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support successful outcomes. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. ECTs will not be considered for this position. Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs is essential. Experience delivering a primary curriculum, particularly to learners working below age-related expectations, is highly desirable. Strong behaviour management and communication skills. Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching and learning. Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check if not already registered on the Update Service.
