Behaviour Support Worker
Secondary Alternative Provision, Blackburn
We are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a secondary Alternative Provision in Blackburn. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 3:20pm, and Friday, 8:00am – 2:30pm.
The successful candidate will support students who display challenging behaviour and require additional support to engage positively in education. The school caters for young people who have struggled in mainstream settings and benefit from a smaller, more nurturing environment.
We are looking for someone with strong behaviour management skills, who can remain calm under pressure and build positive, professional relationships with students and staff. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to promote engagement, improve behaviour, and support pupils in achieving their personal and academic goals.
Key Requirements:
* Experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour (in a school, PRU, or youth work setting)
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
* Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
* A resilient, patient, and proactive attitude
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 3:20pm
* Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour, depending on experience
