Arcus FM are currently recruiting a dedicated Multi‑Skilled Shift Engineer to join our Operations team, ensuring our mechanical, electrical, and fabric infrastructure is well‑maintained, compliant, and responsive to the needs of our site based client in Milton Keynes.

What We Offer:

1. Competitive Salary – Up to £44,000 per annum, depending on experience
2. 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
3. Enhanced overtime rates for additional earnings
4. Annual bonus (up to 4%) - subject to performance (historically paid out)

What You'll Be Doing


As Multi Skilled Shift Engineer, you will:

5. Deliver both planned and reactive mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance services across our clients portfolio using CAFM systems and handheld devices
6. As a key part of the team, you’ll ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency in all engineering operations, whilst upholding high standards in alignment with company values.

Key Responsibilities

7. Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) using Ostara
8. Respond promptly to building alarms (via helpdesk or BMS), escalating where required
9. Manage reactive maintenance tasks via CAFM system and meet SLA targets
10. Close‑out PPMs in timely fashion and follow up remedial actions.
11. Liaise closely with Supervisor, technical admin, and service delivery teams
12. Escort/coordinate subcontractors during maintenance visits
13. Provide cover during holidays and sickness—share responsibilities within the shift team
14. Participate in minor engineering projects and reactive maintenance
15. Maintain 100% compliance across all tasks, and proactively ensure regulatory and asset management compliance
16. Adhere to permit to work processes, carry out isolations to energy sources as needed to maintain safe working environment
17. Order materials and obtain quotes for works
18. Provide first‑time fixes for engineering and fabric requests wherever practicable.

What We're Looking For


Qualifications:

19. Time‑served in Electrical or Mechanical or Fabric disciplines (minimum 3 years)
20. City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical discipline

Desirable:

21. City & Guilds Part 3 or NVQ Level 2
22. 2391 Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
23. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
24. IPAF / PASMA certification within last 3 years
25. Valid First Aid certificate
26. Experience as an LV/HV Authorised Person
27. Full UK Driving Licence

Working hours / Shift pattern:

28. Working alternating weeks - 7am to 4pm OR 10am to 7pm
29. Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
30. Every 5th week - Tuesday to Saturday - 8am to 5pm

On call rota:
