* About the Job Role
* As a Senior Project Engineer you will manage street lighting and other electrical street furniture contracts or a territorial responsibility as delegated by the Street Lighting Partnership Manager. Assist with the management, supervision and instruction of Street Lighting Operatives.
You will provide direction and management of the Street Lighting team and deputise for the Streetlighting Partnership/Project/Works Manager as required.
You will assist with planning and programming Works programmes and be responsible for setting, monitoring and controlling the street lighting budget and achieving all financial and other targets for the designated area.
With relevant post-qualification experience working in an electrical contracting environment as a technical supervisor, you will have thorough knowledge and understanding of all electrical and safety regulations specifically those relating to street lighting, experience of managing numerous contracts simultaneously, people management experience with manual workers and supervisors and HR experience e.g. dealing with investigations/disciplinary hearings.
You will have an HNC, SVQ Level 4 or a Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience.
You will be a highly motivated and adaptable individual, be a team player and have a positive approach with good interpersonal and strong verbal and written communication skills.
You will have applied technical and professional skills, a technical capacity in a street lighting environment, excellent planning and organisational skills, the ability to set objectives and analyse projects e.g. cost comparison.
A Category B Driving Licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain and access to a motor vehicle, or otherwise able to meet the requirement to travel efficiently to other locations is essential.
