Job Summary
Collins Fresh Produce is a diverse food distribution business supplying hotels, pubs, education, care sector and restaurants across the midlands and East Anglia with fresh produce. dairy, bakery, groceries and much more.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of daily duties.
Must be able to work Saturdays and at least 3 weekdays.
Candidate must have a manual license and be able to drive a 3.5 ton long wheel vehicle.
Duties
Safely operate a delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
Navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues encountered during transit
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes
Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability
Assist in warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organization
Checking delivery with customer and reporting any shortages
must be able to lift up to 25kg
Experience
Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential
Familiarity with commercial driving practices is preferred
Experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading goods
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers effectively
