Job Description
New Directions are looking for a passionate Key Stage 2 teacher with excellent classroom management and an up-to-date knowledge of the literacy and numeracy framework for fantastic primary schools across The Wirral.
As a Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in the development and growth of students during this critical stage of their education. Your patient, supportive, and engaging approach will help create a stimulating learning environment and foster a love for learning.
Ideal candidates will have high expectations from pupils and will be willing to demonstrate these throughout their teaching. You will have experience planning and delivering high standards of lessons in Key Stage 2 (KS2) and hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
Experienced and Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
Your role as a Key Stage 2 (KS2) primary teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.
As a primary school key stage 2 teacher you’ll be expected to:
1. Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
2. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
3. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
5. Maintain discipline
6. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
7. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
8. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
9. Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
10. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
