The Royal Academy of Music is one of the world's leading conservatoires. Based in central London adjacent to Regent's Park, we have trained musicians to the highest professional standards since 1822 and we are firmly focused on developing tomorrow's musical leaders in disciplines including classical, jazz, composition and musical theatre.

The core business of the Royal Academy of Music is to develop the artistry and employability of our students. Our Artist Development programme sits at the heart of this endeavour, training students to think strategically about the relationship between their artistry and employability and developing their workplace and business skills. The Lecturer in Artist Development will contribute to the delivery of Artist Development activities as a core component of the HE experience of each student at the Academy. They will work with colleagues to develop and deliver this area of the curriculum and contribute to the teaching, mentoring and assessment activities of this strand of our programmes.

You will have an excellent knowledge of the UK music sector and its current trends. You will understand and have experienced the challenges and opportunities of working as a musician in the UK and internationally. You will have an excellent knowledge and experience of the essential business skills needed by musicians. You will have at least a first degree in Music or equivalent professional experience and you will have experience of teaching in Higher Education. You will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, committed to the education and training of outstanding musicians with a variety of backgrounds from across the globe.
