Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Manager to lead our organisation's environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental policies, programmes, and procedures to promote sustainable practices across all operations. Duties
Help implement carbon reduction policies.
Develop, implement, and oversee environmental management programmes to minimise the organisation's ecological impact.
* Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to monitor compliance with legislation and internal policies.
* Analyse environmental data, prepare detailed reports, and recommend improvements based on findings.
* Lead root cause analysis of environmental incidents or non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions promptly.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate environmental reporting requirements.
* Promote awareness of environmental issues through training sessions and organisational communication channels.
* Stay informed about evolving environmental legislation, standards, and technological advancements relevant to the organisation's operations.
Requirements
* Proven experience in environmental management or related field.
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and industry standards within the UK context.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
* Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective measures.
* First aid certification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided if necessary.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Organised with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant qualifications in environmental science, management, or engineering are preferred but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates.
